Glendalough which translated to English means “The Valley of the two lakes” is an ancient glacial valley in County Wicklow, Ireland. Wicklow is on the eastern side of the country close to County Dublin. It is well renowned for its early medieval monastic settlement which was founded in the 6th century by Saint Kevin and features a 30 metre tall round tower that was build with local Granite.
Glendalough is only 40-60 minutes drive from Dublin and is a great place to go if only here for a short visit.
